More Mitcham (and a few corgis)

Hey Look Sarah more Mitcham! I feel bad that he has to go to Auntie Mary's house while I'm gone away but he'll have a ton of fun with the Irish Setter, the GSP puppies and my surrogate GSP Rukkus :) Please God save his coat while he's gone !! :)

He is 'looking' through his hair at me...trying to act innocent. *note* the large pile of stuffing. That was NOT a toy but one of my couch pillows!!!!!!!!! Oh well, I needed to update :)

I had to reglue his ears as he is teething and I didn't want to have the cartiladge break in his ears....and since we aren't debuting him until the Fargo show.....that gives us about two months or so to get them up nice again.
A shot to show the beautiful tawny color coming in. I'm not sure if he'll have that gray overlay or not. His breeder says that Briards can change color from year to year so who knows what shade he will end up as.
Sadie and Zoe. My red eye button didn't seem to darker Zoe's one eye enough. She really isn't like that in person :)
Here this one is better. She always looks so sad....maybe she's looking for sympathy? More scratches? Without the camera she is chewing on her favorite indestructable toy ( although she has destroyed it now) as we speak so I think its just a ploy....

The Boys

The boys are allowed to play under supervision as the size is so great. However Mitcham LOVES Justice, and vice versa. Oliver even really likes both of them and he plays along with them. Mitcham usually lays down and Justice will come and lay between his front feet, upside down and then they'll mouth play almost in silence, both hardly moving anything but their mouths. Mitcham is so careful with Justice when they play. I'm so happy that everyone is getting along so well!

What do YOU think? :)

Mitcham update!

Here is an update on the big furball...Mitcham weighs in at a hefty 40 pounds already and is nearly as tall as I think he'll get.....maybe he'll get bigger :) Watch me eat my words later :)

Mitcham just got a bath tonight and a good throrough brushing with the enlisting help of my dad! Here he is glue free in the ears and brushed and brushed and brushed and brushed and brushed and brushed and brushed. And a little more brushing.

He is posing here with Sadie trying to get out of the way ;)

He sits so perfectly straight up...so unlike the Cardigans that can't do that due to leg length limitations :) :)

MItcham update!

Mitcham, the Briard, is doing well here! He has never met a stranger, and is the biggest (or will be the biggest) cuddle bug I'll have the pleasure of living with. I thought Oliver was a 'daddy's boy' but Mitcham has him beat! If I'm in the kitchen at the counter making supper, he's between me and the cupboard looking up. If I'm laying on the couch, he's on my chest laying on top of me. If I'm sitting in a chairs, he's on my lap, lounging. He really is an extended part of me and I love it! The hair is getting longer and the grooming will soon start in earnest. He likes food so that's always helpful during training as well. The Cardis are not much for legs (duh) but Mitcham uses his legs like arms, like a monkey would, batting them at you for attention, to grab something or to hang on to a Cardi in play. I've got to get used to that part yet :)

Photos! Thanks to Sarah Keth for 'gently prodding' me into getting some new ones taken.

He's such a happy boy, and afraid of nothing. My hat is off to Denise Simenauer of Dior Briards and Nicole Johnson of Reine Briards on their amazing techniques of socializing them to all sorts of animals, people, noises, sights and smells! I'll definintely follow their practices when puppies are expected here!

A long time coming!

It has been a long time. Too long in fact. We lost access to our farm website and ebonwald website when WEBS.COM was closed by VistaPrint. ...
